I’ve been blogging in some form or another for as long as I can remember—even back in the days of Live Journal. I used to do the whole “have a website” thing that was cool in my teenage years, learning HTML and undergoing processes that, compared to today, were tedious and blaaaahhh. I think I used FortuneCity as my first “free host”, and built a pretty expansive site on games and such. I kind of wish I’d kept it around—nostalgia and all that.
Back in 2008, I started Dreaming In Abstract on the Blogger platform one day at work. The day was progressing slowly and I needed an outlet. Whatever works, right? The title just sort of hit me, and in a few clicks the site was live and ready for me to share my random thoughts with friends and family. Away I went. Typity type.
In June 2010 I made the move to a WordPress platform, and decided to take the site in a somewhat different direction. There are still general-themed posts relevant to anyone that knows me, but I want the site to be more accessible. Originally the site’s purpose was never to be a web resource, but that’s something I’d like to build toward at this point. Stuff the public wants to read about.
